RICH IN LIFE-CHANGING BOOKS

[6 All-Time Favorites]

CONTEXT

There are certain books that just stick with you. You know the ones…

  • They stole your attention the first time you read them.

  • You found yourself telling everyone about that one chapter.

  • They changed your perspective in a lasting way, and you would happily read them again in the future.

  • And whenever you meet someone who also read the same books? You immediately feel closer to them.

Here are those 6 books for me.

Lock yourself in a room and read one of these every two weeks. You’ll be unrecognizable by January. 🔥

THE BOOKS

1. Essentialism by Greg McKeown

Key Lessons:

  • Do fewer things, but better. Stack small wins in essential areas.

  • The pressure to “do more” is often self-inflicted. (So you need to manage your inner critic.)

  • “Priority” means 1 thing. Just 1.

Favorite quote: “Give yourself permission to stop trying to do it all, to stop saying yes to everyone.”

2. The Almanack of Naval Ravikant by Eric Jorgenson

Key Lessons:

  • Earn with your mind, not your time. The best assets earn while you sleep.

  • Achieve mastery in 1-2 obsessions. No one can beat you at being you.

  • Avoid the hedonic treadmill.

Favorite quote: “A fit body, a calm mind, a house full of love. These things cannot be bought — they must be earned.”

Btw— you can download the entire book for free at this site. I kinda can’t believe they’re giving this one away at no cost.

3. I Will Teach You to Be Rich by Ramit Sethi

Lessons:

  • Spend extravagantly on things you love. Cut costs mercilessly on things you don't.

  • Just get started. (Don’t spend an exhaustive amount of time thinking about what you should invest in.)

  • Automate your savings + investing.

Favorite quote: Why do you want to be rich? What does being rich mean to you?”

Btw— this one might sound familiar because it turned into a Netflix series in April this year!

4. Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkeman

Lessons:

  • 4k weeks (80 years) is actually a very short amount of time. Don’t “live for the future.” Enjoy now.

  • The point of a vacation is not to be more productive later. It’s to enjoy a vacation.

  • Perfect is the enemy of done.

Favorite quote: “One can waste years postponing precisely the things one cares about the most.”

5. Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself by Dr. Joe Dispenza

Lessons:

  • If you want a new outcome, you have to become a new self.

  • Meditation is how you access your subconscious mind (and unwanted habits).

  • A memory without emotion = wisdom.

Favorite quote: “Your thoughts have consequences so great that they create your reality.”

Btw— if you’re not ready for the full book yet, here’s an 11-min YouTube video of Joe introducing this idea in a lecture. It’s so good.

6. Atomic Habits by James Clear

Lessons:

  • Success is the product of daily habits, not once-in-a-lifetime transformations.

  • Make those habits part of your identity. Every little action you take is a vote for the kind of person you want to become.

  • Getting 1% better every day actually counts for a lot in the long run.

Favorite quote: “You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.”

CLOSING THOUGHTS

I know it can be hard to find time to read. So I highly recommend the audiobook version of each of these! Most of them are narrated by the authors themselves, so it will feel like they’re speaking directly to you… sharing the most important thoughts and ideas they’ve ever had in a mere few hours.

I always listen to one when I’m getting ready in the morning, going for a walk, cleaning the house, making dinner, commuting to work. It’s the best way to make use of those moments.

And if you only read one book from this list? Make it The Almanack of Naval Ravikant.

Until next week,

Jade

P.S. If you read as much as I do, you’d probably be a great creator on LinkedIn. If you’re interested in growing and monetizing your audience, book a private, 60-min coaching session with me. (Only 5 dates are still available in September!) 🔥

I’ll teach you the entire system that grew my LinkedIn from 1k to 195k followers in 8 months. (And how I turned that into a multi-six-figure side hustle.) Learn more, read client testimonials, and view my availability here.

Sending a warm welcome to the 1,853+ who have joined since last week! Learn more about The Quiet Rich here. 🎉
