RICH IN MOONSHOTS
[The #1 method to land dream opportunities]

Welcome to The Quiet Rich, your weekly guide to a quiet mind and a rich life. Today you’re getting the best advice I got in my early 30s to increase your “luck surface area” and build the life of your dreams.
Today’s email is brought to you by…me. 🥰
Specifically, my private coaching program: Archimedes.
I co-founded it in 2023 with Ben Meer (3.1M+ combined audience). It’s the most exclusive members club for people looking to build their personal brand on LinkedIn. 700+ of the fastest-growing accounts have gone through it.
Our next cohort starts on July 28th. (Only 4 days left to join!)
Read the reviews and apply here. It takes 3 minutes.
Congrats to everyone who has already joined. I’m blown away by this group of CEOs, executives, keynote speakers, founders, coaches. I can’t wait to meet you next week on our Welcome Call. 😊

CONTEXT
Most people spend their entire careers waiting for opportunities to knock. But here's what I learned in the past few years. The most successful people don't wait around for luck. They create a bigger “luck surface area” to increase the chance that something big will strike.
In other words? They take more shots on goal.
One introduction. One bold ask. One email.
(And some of them are big shots. Moonshots.) All it takes is 1 email to completely change the trajectory of your career. But most of us never hit send because we're paralyzed by the possibility of hearing "no."
My hot take: The cost of not trying… is the life you could have lived.
The cost of trying? $0. You’ve got nothing to lose.
I call this the "Moonshot Method"—and it's changed everything for me.
Every Friday, I send one outreach email that scares me a little. One message to someone who feels completely out of my league.
I pitched a Forbes columnist on an idea for an article. She immediately said yes, leading to my first-ever Forbes feature. The article got so much engagement that she asked to interview me for a second piece.
I emailed Sahil Bloom, asking him to be a guest speaker for Archimedes. He said yes, nailed one of the best fireside chats we’ve had, and we became good friends.
I wrote a book proposal that felt like an absolute dream topic. I honestly didn’t know if any publisher would consider it. But I took a chance and sent the email to my literary agent. The book proposal received record-high interest, and I signed a major deal with one of the top publishing houses in the world. It prompted me to leave my career at Google and become a full-time author and entrepreneur.
Each of these happened after sending a single email. Just one.
Not all of your moonshots will work out, of course. But what about the ones that do…?
METHOD
Step 1: Set a recurring calendar invite
Block out 30 minutes every Friday for your weekly moonshot. Same day, same time.
Put it in your calendar right now.
It’s not about getting a "yes" every time. It’s about showing up consistently (so you get more shots on goal).
The person who sends 52 thoughtful emails per year will have a fundamentally different life than the person who sends zero.
——
Step 2: Lower the stakes
A moonshot doesn't have to mean getting on the phone with Sir David Attenborough (though I’m sure that’d be a wonderful conversation).
Maybe start with these:
Ask for a warm intro to a hiring manager at your dream company
Record a video application that stands out from other candidates
Send a thoughtful note to reconnect with an old mentor
Pitch a dream organization on a workshop or keynote
Invite someone you admire to be a guest on your podcast
Pro tip (especially for something like that last one): Think about what you can offer THEM. What problem can you solve for them? Don't ask for anything right away. Invest in the relationship first.
——
Step 3: Think “nothing to lose” and hit send
Write your email. Read it once. Then send it before you can talk yourself out of it.
Set a reminder to follow up in two weeks. (If someone doesn’t respond right away, it doesn’t mean they’re not interested. They might just be busy.)
Here’s the thing: You're already at zero with the people you've never reached out to. You can't go lower than zero! So every moonshot is pure upside.
Even if you get a 10% response rate (which is conservative), that's 5 meaningful opportunities per year. If just one of those turns into something great, all 52 moonshots were worth it.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
Here's the hidden truth about moonshots. The magic isn't in the response rate. It's in who you become when you start believing you belong in those conversations.
When you email your heroes, you stop seeing them as untouchable. When you apply for dream jobs, you stop settling for mediocre ones. When you say hello to that attractive stranger, you stop hiding in your comfort zone.
Every moonshot you take is a vote for the person you're becoming.
Make one bold ask this week that makes your heart beat a little faster. One message to someone who feels slightly out of reach.
Because the worst thing that can happen isn't getting rejected. It's not trying, and wondering "what if" for the rest of your life.
Enjoyed this? Forward it to someone who takes moonshots. ❤️ And read the other newsletters from The Quiet Rich here.
Much love,
Jade
P.S. One of my best moonshots of all time was hitting “post” on LinkedIn 2 years ago. I almost didn't! A little voice in my head told me I had nothing "interesting" to say. It worried what others would think when I started being influencer-y.
Thank goodness I didn't listen to that voice. Because then I would never have:
Grown from 1,000 to 440,000 followers on LinkedIn in less than 2 years
Been featured in publications like Forbes and Business Insider (2x each)
Signed a major book deal with one of the world’s best publishers
Launched two 7-figure businesses in two years
Been quoted on Instagram by Will Smith 🤯
Left my career at Google to work for myself
A LOT can happen in 2 years if you just get started.
