RICH IN GROWTH MINDSET
[The Bamboo Rule]
Welcome to The Quiet Rich, your weekly email for a quiet mind + a rich life. Today I’m sharing why most people give up too soon (right before they’re about to have a big break) and 3 practical tips to avoid that.
Today’s email is brought to you by…me. 🥰
Specifically, my private coaching program: Archimedes.
I co-founded it in 2023 with Ben Meer (3M+ combined audience). It’s the most exclusive members club for people looking to build their personal brand on LinkedIn.
Many of you know I’ve been in marketing at LinkedIn and Google for the past 10+ years. And growing an audience is the most effective marketing tool I’ve found. It’s the best way to attract clients to your business, get paid speaking gigs, start coaching, land your dream job, start a podcast, sell a major book deal, etc.
Only 48 hours left to apply! Read the reviews and apply before May 7th (it takes 3 minutes). If you’re accepted, the checkout link closes May 9th.
This isn’t just about growing your followers. It’s about growing your income. I can’t wait to meet everyone next week. 😊

CONTEXT
Most of us expect immediate results. We post on social media and check for likes every few minutes. We launch a business and obsess over early metrics. We try a new skill and give up if we're not immediately good at it.
My hot take: Most people give up too soon.
The most successful ones know The Bamboo Rule.
When Chinese bamboo is planted, it shows absolutely no visible progress for five years. (FIVE YEARS!) Nothing breaks through the soil. No sprouts. No evidence of life.
But beneath the surface, it's developing an elaborate root system. Then something miraculous happens in year 5. The bamboo shoots up 80+ feet in just six weeks.
The biggest breakthroughs often follow this exact pattern. Many of us start projects or businesses with enthusiasm. But when we don't see immediate results, we assume it’s not working and give up. Or worse— we dig up our seeds to "see if they're growing," which actually kills our potential.
Everyone who’s called an “overnight success” put in years of work and invisible growth to get to that one night.
Here's my 3-Step Bamboo Method for a true “growth mindset.”

METHOD
Step 1: Establish "Root Metrics"
Don't focus exclusively on visible outcomes. Instead, choose your "root metrics"—the foundational work that precedes big results.
If you're growing your presence on LinkedIn, don't obsess over followers and impressions in your first few months. Instead, track:
Number of posts completed per week (consistency)
Quality connections made with other creators
Skills developed (writing, design, ideation)
Meaningful conversations in comments and messages
These build your foundation—even when no one's watching.
—
Step 2: Don't Dig Up Your Seeds
Give yourself 90 days minimum before evaluating success. Many people sabotage themselves with "seed-digging" behaviors:
Checking metrics constantly throughout the day
Deleting posts if they don’t get a lot of impressions immediately
Changing strategies before any of them has time to take root
Comparing your beginning to someone else's middle
When you’re tempted to quit, remember: Your breakthrough is so much closer than you think.
—
Step 3: Start a Bamboo Group
Find 3-5 other people who are working toward similar goals. Create a weekly check-in where:
Each person shares one "root win" (skill improvement, connection made, insight gained)
Everyone commits to specific actions for the coming week
The group celebrates consistency more than visible results
This will help keeps you accountable when self-doubt inevitably creeps in.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
The most successful creators, entrepreneurs, and authors I've coached all share one trait: they know that extraordinary results require patience and consistency.
Here's the harsh truth: If you give up too soon, you’ll never break through the soil.
Remember this the next time you feel discouraged by a lack of visible progress. Your roots are growing stronger every day.
Much love,
Jade

I have personally coached 500+ of the fastest-growing accounts on LinkedIn. The ones who succeeded? They committed to 3+ months of posting consistently, regardless of early metrics. That's the difference for those who break through.
