RICH IN LIFE SKILLS

[I wish I learned these 8 sooner]

Welcome to The Quiet Rich, the #1 newsletter to get “rich” in the things that matter most (like time, new experiences, and a house full of love). Today, we’re talking about life skills.

Btw, thank you to everyone who asked about my TEDx Talk!

I’m so grateful to share that I delivered the Talk perfectly— despite some unexpected production challenges that every event tends to have. 😅 (Hopefully, I’ll able to share the recording in February.)

I owe so much to the public speaking coach I hired. I was looking for a world-class expert with a super specific skill set. Fiverr Pro (today’s sponsor) honestly made it effortless for me to find the right talent.

My coach (Mohammad Modarres) transformed my content, tone, and delivery — and he taught me to roll with the punches!

I couldn’t recommend Mohammad (and Fiverr Pro) more highly.

CONTEXT

One of my favorite questions to ask at dinner parties is, “If you could create a class on ‘adulting’ that everyone has to take in school… which life skills would you teach?”

(Yes, I realize this is a pretty weird thing to ask people I’ve just met. But I’ve never been into small talk. 😂 Moving on…)

Here are the 8 life skills that I think everyone should be taught in school.

THE 8 SKILLS

  • Emotional intelligence: How to understand + validate emotions

  • Personal finance: How to invest wisely for long-term goals (+ do taxes)

  • Public speaking: How to communicate eloquently and tell a great story

  • Time management: How to organize your calendar to prioritize the right things

  • Self-discipline: How to keep up healthy habits and reach your goals

  • Critical thinking: How to question existing beliefs to make an informed choice

  • Negotiation: How to think creatively about out-of-the-box solutions

  • Charisma: How to strike up a conversation with anyone (+ ask great questions)

CLOSING THOUGHTS

I’m really curious which life skills you wish you learned earlier. Send me an email back! I love hearing from you.

Much love,

Jade
